April WIPacolypse

Time for another WIPacolypse posting, on the new moon every month people participating in this SAL place an update on their blog about the progress they have made this month.  If you would like more information please click here to get more information.  Last month my plan was to get M-P finished on my alphabet afghan.  Now looking at this aspiration, I realize this was just a crazy goal.  First M and N were both little kids, and the kids in this pattern take a huge amount of time.  Second, finishing four letters seems like a pipe dream kids or no.  I did finish M and N.  I started O.  Here are pictures of those:

I feel like doing both M and N has burned me out on this project a little.  I feel like in the future I will alternate animal block with kid blocks.  So my goal for next month is to finish O-Owl, Q-Queen (kid), and P-Pig.  I want to finish them in that order to see if it help me stay motivated to finish this stitch.

Heaven and Earth Designs is having a second challenge this year.  The challenge is to use cross country stitching one color at a time to finish one full page of a chart by June 15th.  I have chosen the Mourning for Icarus chart as my challenge piece, check it out here.  This is my progress so far:
I don't know if I will be able to finish this page by June 15th.  However, that is my current goal.

This Month's Topic is What do you listen to while stitching?
I watch Flosstube or TV Shows.  My favorite shows to binge while stitching are Medium, Crazy Ex-girlfriend, and Stargate Atlantis.  We have Hulu and Netflix so I watch watch ever is on my list.

That's all for this month!  You can find me on Facebook at facebook.com/firecrakrprojects and on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLsDO14LqmaIzv89nZmkfBA

 Happy Stitching!

  1. Great progress, very cute! I'll be starting a project on Anne cloth, soon (first time stitching on that). I do wonder how long each block will take....

    1. This pattern is 45 by 45 blocks. For each animal, it takes me 1 wk if I stitch on it an average 2 hrs per day. The kids blocks take longer because they have more colors and more backstitching.

  2. Your blocks are cute, don't know if I would have gotten as far as you. Keep up the great work!! My Noah's ark afghan hasn't been touched in a long time - I think I'm on O, or maybe it's P for Panda. I've only been working on it for 18 years, one day. You are inspiring, maybe I'll bring it out again this month.
